Alfa Romeo still key player in the Superbike World Championship

  • Partnership with Dorna WSBK Organization renewed for the next three years

  • Alfa Romeo Top Sponsor and Official Safety Car of the Eni FIM SBK Superbike World Championship since 2007

  • The consolidated partnership is a superb expression of Italian engineering style and experience worldwide

Alfa Romeo and Dorna WSBK Organization announce the renewal of the Superbike World Championship sponsorship agreement for the next three years. The announcement was made today in the last race of the Eni FIM SBK Superbike World Championship 2013, which was held at the Circuito de Jerez (Spain).

Alfa Romeo is crossing the finish line of the seventh year in a row of partnership with the current season. The brand has in fact taken part in the motorcycling event since 2007 as Top Sponsor and Official Safety Car, sharing the same values of sportsmanship, technology and safety at the highest levels.

The three-year renewal confirms the affinities between the two brands and their respective worlds: in the same way that the bikes in the Superbike World Championship come from standard production but deliver superior performance on the track, Alfa Romeo's cars are ideal for everyday use in the city but, when called on, can deliver the emotions and thrilling performance that are an essential part of the sports soul of the brand.

The sponsorship agreement stipulates customisation of the circuits involved in the forthcoming SBK World Championships with Alfa Romeo badges and will see the powerful Quadrifoglio Verde versions of the MiTo and Giulietta in the role of Official Safety Car. These models have assumed a place in the tradition of the best Alfa Romeos, drawing on the heritage of dynamic performance, without compromising on efficiency and convenience in everyday use.

In addition, Alfa Romeo will be on the track, in the warm up and before each race, including during the competitions taking place as part of the World Superbike championship, namely Superstock 600 European Championship, Superstock 1000 FIM Cup and the Supersport World Championship.

And that's not all. The partnership also allows Alfa Romeo to organise exciting contests on the web , with the possibility of going to Superbike World Championship races as the prize, in addition to offering a captivating 'brand experience' marked by the values that authentically distinguish the brand: performance, Italian style and technical excellence aimed at maximum driving pleasure in total safety.

Just like the one last July at the 'Moscow Raceway' during the eighth leg of the Eni FIM SBK Superbike World Championship 2013, when the announcement of Alfa Romeo's return to the Russian market as direct importer, through the 'Chrysler Jeep Russia National Sales Company', was made. The event marked the début of the Alfa Romeo 4C compact supercar as Official Safety car of the SBK Superbike World Championship, a role that it will take up from time to time in the coming years together with the MiTo and Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde.

To celebrate the renewal of the partnership, Alfa Romeo will offer, all SBK Teams and permanent season pass holders preferential conditions to buy an Alfa Romeo during the year 2014.
